- Mail a check to SMSU Business Services, IL 139, 1501 State Street, Marshall, MN 56258.
Authorization to Release Student Information
If you want a parent/guardian/family member to receive financial information about your account if they call or email us, you will need to authorize the release of information so we can share that information:
- Go to the Registration and Records page.
- Select Student Information Release, and follow the instructions.
Direct Deposit
Some students receive financial aid overages after their aid is applied to their accounts. If you would like to receive your overage faster and avoid a paper check and the hassle of depositing it, sign up for direct deposit. Log in to eServices, Financial Aid, Direct Deposit Setup, and Add Direct Deposit Account. You'll need your bank routing number and checking or savings account number. Easy and fast to set up! The money is in your bank account much faster.
Tax Return Forms
Would you like your SMSU tax forms (1098-T &/or W-2) as soon as they are available in January, rather than waiting for them to arrive in the mail?
If so, log in to eServices with your StarID and password. On your dashboard, you will see a link that reads "Sign up now to get your year-end tax form for tuition online." Click and follow the instructions from there. If you don't see that option on your dashboard, you already consented.
By signing up, you will be able to download and print current and past year 1098-T Tuition Statements and W-2 wage and Tax Statements through your eServices account.
In January, when the tax forms are available for download, the consenting student will receive both an email and a notice in their eServices that says "Important Tax Documents Available".
All you will need to do is log in to eServices, go to the Bills and Payments tab, then select the 1098-T Tax Form. For the W-2 (if applicable), you would go to the Student Employment tab, then the W-2 Tax Form tab.
Benefits of signing up include:
- Quicker access for students to year-end tax forms
- Can access at any time, can print more than once
- Less printing and mailing is environmentally friendly.
- The forms won't be lost in the mail or accidentally thrown away, thinking it was junk mail or sent to the wrong address
The Business Services office provides a variety of functions for the SMSU campus community:
- Tuition, Fees, and Payments (Payments, tuition rates, Important dates, room & meal rates, parking information, holds, IDs, withdrawals, and more)
- Travel (reimbursement rates, expense forms, Enterprise rentals, and more)
- Purchasing Cards (application, procedures, reconciliations)
- Purchasing and Contracting (purchase orders, bid requirements, contracts, cell phone requests)
