Southwest Minnesota State University RN to BSN Program Completion
Documentation of program completion outcomes shows the effectiveness of the educational program and serves to guide maintenance and revision of Southwest Minnesota State University Department of Nursing components.

The RN to BSN Job Placement ELA is 90% of RN to BSN graduates will report employment in a position as a Registered Nurse within 12 months of graduation.

The RN to BSN EOPSLOs are decided by the Department of Nursing faculty and are learner-oriented expectations. The outcomes express the knowledge, skills, or behaviors that RN to BSN students should be able to demonstrate upon completion of the program. The SMSU RN to BSN Program developed six EOPSLOs based on established professional standards which are met by completing the program/ the last course in the program, NURS 450 (Public/Community Health Experiential Nursing Learning) clinical capstone course. The EOPSLO outcomes provide a framework for all curricular components and represent the change from student entry-level practitioner to the BSN-prepared level.

EOPSLOs ELA & Assessment Method 2023-2024 Data (Reporting Year) Program Plan/Actions

EOPSLO #1:
Build the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of the baccalaureate-prepared nurse as described within the Scope & Standards of Practice and Nursing Code of Ethics.

NURS 450: At least 90% of students will achieve an 80% or higher grade on the Focused Self Reflections (FSR) Culmination in Nursing Paper and Political Advocacy Paper and All clinical learning paperwork (time log, preceptor evaluation, student evaluation of site, post reflection journal entries) in NURS 450.

EOPSLO #2: 
Value diversity when planning equitable and inclusive person-centered care.
