New Mustang Days

Priority Registration for Spring 2025 Classes

This program is designed with two goals in mind. First, we want to help you build your class schedule for the upcoming semester with help from academic advisors in your declared program(s). Second, we’d like to give you and your families the chance to get to know one another, and meet the people and programs at SMSU that are here to help you succeed! 

Once you have RSVP’d please send all of your transcripts to admisison@smsu.edu. Advisors will use this information when helping you register for classes.

Daily Schedule

  • Check in starts 10:45 
  • Program concludes by 3:30 

Registration for classes will take place at the end of the program. Please plan to attend the entire program.

10:45 A.M. CHECK IN UPPER CONFERENCE CENTER (CC) CHECK IN, HAVE YOUR STUDENT PHOTO TAKEN, AND DOUBLE CHECK YOUR STAR-ID AND PASSWORD ARE WORKING.

11:10 A.M. WELCOME JEREMY REED – EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF ENROLLMENT and CHARLOTTE WAHLE – DIRECTOR OF ADMISSION

11:25 A.M. ACTIVITIES IN SMALL GROUPS  

  • EARN YOUR DEGREE: KAITLYN GILES – ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF STUDENT SUCCESS

  • MUSTANG MEET-UP: JACOB BENSON – ADMISSION COUNSELOR

12:35 P.M. LUNCH

1:10 P.M. HOUSING AND RESIDENCE LIFE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS PRESENTATION 

2:00 P.M. HEAD TO REGISTRATION ROOMS ON CAMPUS

2:30 P.M. ADVISING & COURSE REGISTRATION VARIOUS COMPUTER LABS

3:30 P.M. WRAP UP AND CHECK OUT AT STUDENT CENTER UPPER LEVEL

Once students have registered for classes, the program will have concluded and students will check out in the Student Center before departing.

  • Meet faculty from your Academic Department

  • Star ID and Password
