Lunch & Learn Series
Academic Advising is a critical component of student retention, and is highly valued at Southwest Minnesota State University. The mission of the “Lunch & Learn Series” is to help academic advisors feel prepared for upcoming academic advising days/programs, keep academic advisors up to date on advising topics, and to bring forth new strategies to incorporate into academic advising sessions. This series is designed to provide information, but also to facilitate conversations. Every academic advisor has their own personal touch when it comes to meeting with their advisees. The “Lunch & Learn Series” is a way for the academic advising community at SMSU to come together to brainstorm when we face challenges or difficulties, and also to celebrate the accomplishments and successes we encounter.
