Athletics Game Day Promotions

Gym Supervisor

Duties Performed

The Marshall Area YMCA is seeking a member services staff to assist with achieving established membership goals and ensuring the overall delivery of excellent customer service to all members and guests. Member services staff are responsible for maintaining the welcome areas of the YMCA and greeting all members upon check in.  This is a flexible, part-time role with on-site expectations during the school year.

Residence Life Office Assistant

Qualifications

  • The Department of Residence Life Office Assistant is located in the Residence Life Office and will provide assistance to the Residence Life Director, Residence Life Assistant Director, Housing Specialist, and Office Manager. Additional assistance may be provided to the Graduate Assistant and to RHA and RA staff.
  • A successful candidate will be reliable, have attention to detail, and have a strong sense of customer service. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Strong computer skills are preferred in the Microsoft Suite and Office365. A successful candidate will demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team environment. Candidate must also be able to learn new computer programs and accept coaching as necessary.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible work including evening and weekend hours during the academic year. Most importantly, working in the office Monday-Friday, 8-4:30 in the summer months. The ability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds and to retrieve it from high shelving, low cabinets, and upstairs locations is essential.

Duties Performed

  • Ability to work a variety of hours, including summers 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
  • Provide a strong sense of customer service to staff and students through answering of phones and interacting in person. 
  • Check out/in RHA and other equipment to residents of the SMSU Residence Halls. This equipment includes cooking items, athletic and recreational items, laundry carts etc.

Youth Development Staff

  • Position requires a person with experience in working with younger children and leading activities.  Must be at least 18 years of age.  Person must have an energetic personality that reflects a love of children, can understand, and meet their wide variety of needs, and is creative and fun.  CPR and First Aid certifications are required (may be obtained upon being hired).
  • Incumbent must be able to move easily across a variety of indoor and outdoor terrain; participate in typical outdoor children’s games, sports, and activities; watch and listen to the activities of a group of children; lift up to 50 pounds; and spend up to eight hours per day outside in a variety of summer weather conditions.

Time Commitment: The  After School Program operates from approximately 3:15pm to 6:00pm on school days.  Child Watch operates on Monday – Saturday with both morning and afternoon sessions.

Youth Sports Instructor

A Youth Sports Instructor should have experience developing and managing sports

programs, to include creating new programs, writing and implementing lesson

Youth Sports Instructor is responsible for developing (lesson

plans) and implementing sports programs including but not limited to youth

basketball, soccer, and gymnastics. Must be enthusiastic and great with

children. In addition, he/she is to aid the Marshall Area YMCA in fulfilling our
