Bill Miller visits SMSU Sept. 30 and Oct. 1

Bill Miller, a prominent member of the Native American music community, will visit Southwest Minnesota State University Sept. 30 and Oct 1.

Miller will be giving classroom presentations on those two days, culminating with a 7 p.m. performance on Oct. 1 in the SMSU Conference Center Ballroom. The performance is free and open to the public.

Miller has won three Grammy Awards in the last four years. He is an accomplished artist, with paintings exhibited nationwide. He is also a singer, composer, flutist, painter and storyteller best known as Bill “Birdsong” Miller.    

His artwork has appeared in The National Museum of the American Indian-Smithsonian Institution, the Barbara Able Gallery in Santa Fe, the Trickster Gallery in Chicago and the American Indian Community House Gallery in New York. He is also a speaker and lecturer, speaking at universities, race relations conferences, and cultural awareness programs nationwide.
