SMSU Theatre’s Spring mainstage production is SHOUT! The Mod Musical, created by Phillip George and David Lowenstein. Performances are April 10 through April 13 at 7:30 pm and April 12 and 13 at 2 pm in the SMSU Fine Arts Theatre. Tickets are $10 and will be available only at the door. With its irresistible blend of pop music hits, colorful fashions, and swinging dance moves, SHOUT! follows five groovy gals coming of age in England from 1960 to 1970, as they redefine themselves in the face of changing attitudes about gender. In this energetic revue, classic pop tunes including "Downtown," "Son of a Preacher Man," and "Goldfinger" are tied together by hilarious sound bites from the period – from ‘60s magazine ads to letters answered by an advice columnist.

SHOUT! is directed by Professor Sheila Tabaka, who is also the costume co-designer. Assistant Professor Tetta M. Askeland is the scenic designer. Guest artist Cory Sprinkles is the lighting designer. Professor Nadine Purvis Schmidt is the producer. Jim Tabaka is the music director and vocal director and plays bass guitar for the production. Additional musicians are Claire Allen and Stacey Bosveld playing keyboards, Zach Haltvick playing guitar, and Stephen Leek playing drums and percussion.
