Upward Bound Volunteers Needed

Upward Bound seeks volunteers to help manage the booths at our Reality Check Saturday Session on April 26. We are collaborating with the 4-H Extension to provide a Reality Check Simulation for an opportunity for Upward Bound students to see what it will be like to manage a budget from their paycheck into everyday needs.

Volunteers will have a quick orientation at 9:00 a.m., and the event will begin at 9:30 a.m. 

We have about 60 students registered from Marshall, Worthington and Yellow Medicine East. They will take a real-life look at budgeting and planning ahead and see how sometimes even the best-laid plans can be derailed. The goal is to go through the booths, do what needs to be done at each booth, and still have money left over at the end of the month. 

If you are interested and willing to volunteer for a few hours, please contact the Upward Bound office by Tuesday, April 22.
