Gail M. Fokken Forensics Scholarship

Named in honor of Gail M. Fokken, late sister of SMSU Professor Mark A. Fokken, this scholarship is given to one student each year who exemplifies the value of competitive speech and debate activities.  It is open to all students, regardless of major, who has or intends to make a meaningful contribution to the SMSU Forensics team through active participation.  Criteria for awarding funds include:

• Must be enrolled as a full-time student
• Must be in good academic standing
• Maintain active participation on the SMSU Forensics Team
• Have high school and/or collegiate experience in speech and/or debate activities
• Must demonstrate advocacy for forensic activities
