Alec Bond

The Alec Bond Student Essay Contest takes place each academic year in honor of poet and former professor, Alec Bond.

Students are eligible to submit written work from English 099/151/251 or EMLS 126/151 from courses taken during the academic year of the current contest. Monetary awards are given to the top entries as a scholarship.

The deadline for the 2024-2025 contest is Fri., Apr. 11, 2025. Students must submit their essay with a cover sheet via Awardspring. More information can be found in the contest flyer or by emailing Eric Doise at eric.doise@smsu.edu.
