RN to BSN Nursing Application Process
RN to BSN Program Admission Criteria
- Current, unencumbered RN License (Associate degree nursing students may apply in the last semester of their nursing program, with acceptance into the program contingent upon successful completion of the National Council Licensure Exam -NCLEX-RN.)
- Nursing GPA > 2.30
- Must be admitted to Southwest Minnesota State University* Click here to apply to SMSU.
* Students start taking nursing courses in the fall or spring semester.
* Express course options available.
* New nursing students may start taking courses in August, October, January, or March.
How to Apply
When you are ready to apply, please follow these steps for full acceptance into the RN to BSN Program:
The application process:
- Apply for admission to SMSU
- Have your official college/university transcripts from non-MinnState schools sent to the SMSU Admission office.
(YOU MUST APPLY AND BE ADMITTED TO SMSU BEFORE APPLYING TO THE RN TO BSN PROGRAM)
- Have your official college/university transcripts from non-MinnState schools sent to the SMSU Admission office.
- Apply to RN to BSN Program
- Once admitted to SMSU, you will receive instructions from the Department of Nursing on how to complete the RN to BSN Program application.
- Applicants need to complete the RN to BSN application (application expires two years from completion date).
- Active unencumbered RN license and GPA from previous nursing program will be verified prior to acceptance into the program.
