Jeremy Reed Named Executive Director of Enrollment Management at SMSU

Southwest Minnesota State University President Dr. Kumara Jayasuriya announced on Wednesday the hiring of Jeremy Reed as the Executive Director of Enrollment Management at SMSU.

Reed most recently served as the Director of Enrollment at Luther College, Decorah, Iowa; was the Vice-President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs at Northern State University, Aberdeen, S.D.; and the Director of Undergraduate Admissions at Wisconsin-Whitewater.

“Jeremy brings a significant background in admission and enrollment management leadership,” said Jayasuriya. “He has a passion for promoting college access and embraces the role that regional public universities like SMSU serve.”

In addition to his experience in enrollment management, he has student affairs experience, having served as Director of Career Services and Orientation Coordinator at Augustana College Rock Island, Ill, and Assistant Dean of Students/Director of Career Services at Iowa Wesleyan, Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.

SMSU has an obviously powerful impact on its students, the region, and the state. I can't wait to call SMSU and Marshall home!"

Reed earned his bachelor’s degree in International Studies and Political Science from Loras College, Dubuque, Iowa; a master’s degree in Higher Education and College Student Personnel from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio; and a doctorate in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Iowa.
