Accessing D2L Brightspace

Click on here:D2L Brightspace
Enter your username (which is your StarID)
Password: StarID password

Accessing SMSU E-mail

Follow these steps to access your SMSU e-mail account:

Click on www.smsu.edu/email
Click the Login button.

Student Access

Log in with your   StarID@go.minnstate.edu   and StarID password

Example:   ab1234cd@go.minnstate.edu

StarID not activated?

Go to the Self Service Portal.

Changing Password

Click on E-Services
Enter your Star ID
Enter your Pin/Password
Click on Account Management
Click on "Change Password"

Getting an Unofficial or Official Transcript

Click on E-Services
Enter your Star ID
Enter your Pin/Password
Click on Grades and Transcripts
Click on Academic Record

Getting My Books

You are able to access your books online at SMSU’s Barnes and Nobles Campus Store or by stopping by Barnes and Nobles located in the Student Center building. Feel free to contact them with any questions you may have on picking the correct books. Their number is 507-537-1450

Making Sure I have Registered for Classes

If you want to see if you have successfully registered for your classes you need to follow one of these options:

Option 1:
Click on E-Services
Enter your Star ID
Enter your Pin/Password
Click on Courses & Registration
Click on Registration Log

Option 2:
Click on E-Services
Enter your Star ID
Enter your Pin/Password
Click on Courses & Registration
Click on View/Modify Class Schedule

Registering Online

To register for your class you will need to follow one of the two options:

Option 1:
Click on E-Services
Enter your Star ID
Enter your Pin/Password
Click on Courses & Registration
Click on Search for a Course
Choose a semester 
Choose a subject
Click “Find Courses” button
Once a course is found that you want to register for click "Add" (the black circle with the + sign)
Check all the classes you would like to register for
Click "Register for Checked Courses" button
Enter your Access code
Click on "Register for These Courses".

OR

Option 2:
Click on Quick Register instead of Search for Open Section
Enter course id number (it is different from class number)
Click “register now”
Enter Access code 
Click on "Register for These Courses"

When Can I Register for Classes?

To see when you are able to register, check your registration window.  Follow these steps:

Click on E-Services
Enter your Star ID
Enter your Pin/Password
Click on Courses & Registration 
Click on Registration Window
