About the Program
The state of Minnesota grants Licenses to students who complete requirements set forth by various state agencies. Students may pursue a licensure emphasis in conjunction with some master's degree programs.
Do you have a master's degree or high and want to obtain a licensure in the Educational Administration and Leadership (EDAL) program? We offer 3 licensures in: K-12 Principal, Superintendent, and Special Education Director.
We are a Minnesota Board of School Administrator approved program, with national reach. This is a post-master degree program that requires at least 3 years of previous experience in the education field.
Do you have a bachelor's degree or higher and want to enroll in an education licensure program to earn an initial or additional teaching license?

Please complete the Teacher Licensure Only Form so we can best direct you on your steps for applying to SMSU and the Teacher Preparation Program. After you've been accepted to the University, we will review your transcripts to determine which courses you will need to earn a MN teaching license in the field you're interested in.
