Note Taking
Students requesting notetaking services must have supporting documentation on file in Accessibility Services. Once documentation is received, the student should set up a meeting to establish an academic accommodation plan by contact Accessibility Services at 507-537-6492.
Process for Requesting a Peer Notetaker
- After setting up your accommodations with Accessibility Services staff, complete the Request for Notetaker form and return it to Accessibility Service.
- Accessibility Services will attempt to find a peer note taker in collaboration with the professor. The professor will announce the need for a note taker until the request is filled. The notetaking process is confidential, and the identity of the student requesting the notes will remain confidential.
- The student needing notetaking services should inform Accessibility Services if an announcement is not made in their class.
- Note will be provided in one of these forms: paper copy, emailed, PDF for uploaded into D2L.
- Notetaking services are NOT a substitute for class attendance. You must attend class, take notes, collect handouts, and participate in discussions.
- Students receiving notetaking services must inform Accessibility Services if they drop a class or if they have concerns about the adequacy of the service.
