Cultural Heritage Months
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Cultural Heritage subcommittee collaborate to provide educational materials, programming options, speaking engagements, and other events that celebrate the vast array of cultural groups affiliated with SMSU.
This page is designed to provide quick access to cultural resources, programming and events taking place on campus, including events or activities hosted by student clubs and organizations. We recognize that not all cultural groups are represented in these materials, and invite groups who have an interest in featuring their cultural group to contact us for support in implementing a program or event.
Here are several ways in which you may find cultural heritage celebrated at SMSU:
- Digital marketing featuring current or historical figures and facts about a cultural group (in development)
- Access to culturally relevant events and programming on and off campus
- Educational resources and materials available for personal growth or use in courses
- Opportunities to collaborate with campus or community groups (e.g. Welcoming Week, Juneteenth, Pride)
- Global calendar that identifies cultural heritage months that overlap with SMSU's academic calendar (in development)
