SMSU Assessment for Course Placement

SMSU offers a variety of assessments for course placement to current students and applicants. 

Assessment for Course Placement Policies:

• Tests are scheduled on set testing dates by appointment. We cannot accommodate walk-ins.
• We are an in-person testing center. We do not offer online proctoring.
• We offer a reasonably quiet environment. However, there may be noise and distractions, as others are taking exams in the same room and in other departments.
• We are not able to provide one-on-one monitoring.
• All testers are required to show the appropriate photo identification to take an exam.
• Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your scheduled testing time. Late testers may need to reschedule.
• Testers will be asked to place their personal belongings in a secure area while being tested. Nothing can be taken into the testing room.
• If you are an SMSU student needing a test proctored for an SMSU class, please contact your professor.
