Accelerated BS to MBA

Four-Year Accelerated BS to MBA (B2MBA)

See the One-Year Online Accelerated MBA.

Program

The B2MBA program through the SMSU North Star Mutual School of Business allows students to graduate with their bachelor's and MBA in as little as four years.

Purpose

The purpose of the program is to offer high-achieving students the opportunity to accelerate and supplement their learning by achieving an MBA while completing their undergraduate degree.

HLC Considerations

HLC (HLC Policy: Assumed Practices Number CRRT.C.10.010 subsection B.1.c) requires that at least 50% of courses that apply to a graduate program align with a graduate level of work. The B2MBA program has 66.67% of its courses completed at the graduate level of work.

Degree Explanation

Students enrolled in the B2MBA program will complete 120 undergraduate credits in as little as 3 years in a business major with a declared concentration/emphasis area, then complete at least 24 credits in the graduate MBA Core.

  • The critical distinction here is that students would complete their degrees by utilizing accelerated undergraduate courses in addition to traditional undergraduate courses.
    • Starting in their second year, at least 3 credits each semester will be accelerated.
    • Students enrolled in the program will need to complete 6 credits per summer session to complete on time.
  • The 12 credits earned in the undergraduate concentration area are completed at the undergraduate level and may consist of stacked course options.
  • A stacked course consists of a class where 400 and 500-level classes are completed simultaneously.
