Foundation Residence Apartments

The Foundation Residence Apartments opened in August of 2006. This project was a unique collaboration between the SMSU Foundation, the City of Marshall, Bremer Bank and the SMSU Department of Residence Life. The Foundation Residence Apartments include over 30 two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments for SMSU students, accommodating 141 students total. The Foundation Residence Apartments offers a gender-inclusive living option.

Room Set-up Options

An average Foundation Residence Apartment houses four students. Each student gets their own bedroom which is furnished with a twin size bed frame and mattress, desk, three drawer dresser, and a built-in closet. A hook-up for high speed internet, wireless internet, and cable hook-up are provided in each room.

Room dimensions are approximately 8’ x 10.5’ (Dimensions do not include entryway into room)

The shared spaces of the apartment include a fully-furnished kitchen with fridge, oven, stove, microwave, and dishwasher. A wastebasket, hook-up for high speed internet, wireless internet, and cable hook-up are also provided in the common areas. A fully-furnished living room with a TV stand, two chairs, loveseat, and side table are provided, with a washer and dryer in each apartment. The apartments include air-conditioning and heat.

Foundation Apartment Parking requires a Parking Permit since this is a reserved lot:

• If your apartment is full, the permit is free.
• If your apartment is not full, the cost for a permit is $180 for the year.
• Permits for the Foundation Apartment Parking Lot, Lot E, are on a first come, first serve basis and can be obtained from the Cashier’s Window.
